Event Details
PENSACOLA - ITGULFCOAST, an Information Technology Association for the Gulf Coast, will hold their regular monthly meeting on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 in Downtown Pensacola. Paul Jones will discuss the Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) which is a set of best practices for managing the delivery of Information Technology services.

Six in 10 Information Technology (IT) projects fail because people underestimate or fail to build correct infrastructures to support the projects. Fully adopting an IT service management strategy can cut an organization’s cost of IT ownership by about 50%. (Gartner 2005)

Chances are you have heard the buzz surrounding Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL). This presentation will provide you with a solid understanding of what ITIL is and how it can benefit you and your organization. ITIL is a set of best practices for IT Service Management. Whether you are a business owner/manager, an IT manager or just interested in understanding more about the IT services and service processes this is a must see presentation.

Managing technology is and always has been a major challenge. And the gap between technology and the business needs of the organization has been an even greater challenge. ITIL provides a practical, no-nonsense framework for identifying, planning, delivering and supporting IT services to the business.   In this presentation you will not only learn what ITIL is but you will gain an understanding of how applying this framework can improve your ability to provide IT services and reduce the long term costs of maintaining those services.   In addition you will learn how ITIL can provide a solid platform for bridging the technology/business gap and help you ensure a solid return on your technology Investments. No matter what size organization you represent, ITIL can make a difference in your ability to provide exceptional IT services.
